StatusHub Integration

Uptrends

Uptrends is all about Cloud-based website performance and network monitoring. StatusHub is built to communicate about issues and incidents to your users and customers. Linking these two systems allows your technical team to take advantage of automation and save valuable time. Time becomes precious during expected incidents; automate the detection and resolution process to solve issues faster than ever.

About Uptrends

Uptrends is the ultimate monitoring tool to stay in control of the uptime, performance, and functionality of your websites, APIs, and servers. Uptrends have become a trusted standard in network and website performance monitoring since its founding in 2007. The company dedicated to helping you to get the most out of monitoring services.

STATUSHUB AND UPTRENDS INTEGRATION OVERVIEW

When Uptrends detects a problem an error condition triggers an alert and Uptrends sends the information to your Statushub through our secure connection. Then, StatusHub automatically creates an incident report and post it to your StatusHub for near-instant awareness (and prompter action) for your team and your customers. Your technical team now has time to investigate and, ideally, resolve the problem quickly knowing that your customers and users have already been informed.

Technical Overview of Uptrends Integration with StatusHub

Because Uptrends integration is done through a URL with a service token, it’s a one-to-many association. A single Uptrends webhook can’t create incidents on multiple StatusHub services.

Uptrends integration can only create incidents in StatusHub. It can’t create maintenance events.

When an incident occurs, the StatusHub incident type will be set to“investigating”. The service status will be set to “red”.

When the issue is resolved, Uptrends will update the incident in StatusHub but will not close it. Instead, the service status will be set to “green”, and the incident status will be set to “monitoring”. In order to close the incident, your team must take manual/API action to set the incident status to “resolved”.

A “yellow” StatusHub status is not possible with this integration. Only “red” and “green” options will be relevant.
