StatusHub Integration
Opsgenie Integration with StatusHub to Create Incident Alerts
Opsgenie is a modern incident management platform for operating always-on services, empowering Dev and Ops teams to plan for service disruptions and stay in control during IT issues. StatusHub communicates information about issues and incidents to your end-users. Linking these two systems allows your technical team to take advantage of automation and save valuable time.
About Opsgenie
Opsgenie ensures critical issues are never missed and actions are taken by the right people in the shortest possible time. On-call schedules in your Opsgenie account ensure the right people are notified through multiple communication channels. If an alert is not acknowledged, Opsgenie automatically escalates it, ensuring the incident gets the needed attention.
StatusHub and Opsgenie integration overview
Opsgenie receives alerts from your monitoring systems and custom applications and categorizes each alert based on importance and timing. It sends the information to your StatusHub through our secure connection. StatusHub automatically creates an incident report and posts it to your hub and status page, which enables near-instant awareness for your team and your end-users. This integration allows for seamless communication and efficient incident management for the team as they don't have to answer the queries.
Your technical team now has time to investigate the issue immediately and, ideally, resolve the problem quickly with the peace of mind of knowing that your customers and users have already been informed.
Technical Overview of Opsgenie Integration with StatusHub for Incident Alerts
Because OpsGenie integration is done through a URL with a service token, it’s a one-to-many association. A single Opsgenie webhook can’t create incidents on multiple StatusHub services.
Opsgenie integration can only create incidents in StatusHub. It can’t create maintenance events.
The initial StatusHub incident status will always be “investigating”.
When the issue is resolved, Opsgenie will close the incident in StatusHub by setting incident status to “resolved”.
Service statuses will be set based on “action” parameters sent by Opsgenie. Value mapping is as follows:
“Create” -> “red”;
“Close” -> “green”.
The incident title will be set to “[Opsgenie] Alert”.
The incident update message will be set to “alert.message” parameter from the OpsGenie payload.
